Work in Progress
Social Issues Research center recently coined the term "riskfactorphobia" to describe how health scares has lead worried parents to use extreme risk management to protect their children from possible harm.
Socialogists and paediatricians warn of the risk of overprotecting our offspring claiming that it impedes on children's development producing a whole new generation of children called cottonwool kids. Experts fear that overprotection of children may lead to them becoming incapable of dealing with even thee smallest obstacles later in life.
My project is about looking at the domestic environment investigating wheter preventing children from taking risks is the best way on protecting them.
